GuideStar is an online Web-based directory of nonprofit organisations - community and voluntary organisations, charities, NGOs, philanthropies and foundations. It publishes extensive data about them (objectives, activities, organisation and finances) at no cost to the organisations listed, and makes this freely available to anybody who’s interested.

The Centre for Non-profit Management at Trinity College Dublin published the first comprehensive report mapping the non-profit sector in Ireland in 2006. The report provides a detailed picture of non-profit organisations in Ireland. The Centre has also produced a directory of non-profit organisations in Ireland from the project.
